Thieves steal $40,000 in property during Hillsburgh break-in

HILLSBURGH – Police are looking for help to identify three suspects after $40,000 worth of property was stolen during a residential break-in here on Tuesday.

Wellington County OPP officials say the break-in took place on March 4 at about 12:15pm at a property on Wallace Street in Hillsburgh.

"Two suspects entered ... via the rear glass door and stole approximately $40,000 worth of property from within the unoccupied residence," police stated in a March 7 press release.

"The suspects then fled in a white [SUV]... which had no front licence plate and heavily tinted windows.

"Three suspects are currently being sought in this incident."

Police are asking for help to identify the suspects and the vehicle involved.

Tip providers may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.
