Three Mount Forest residents charged in drug busts
MOUNT FOREST – Three local residents have been arrested and charged following drug busts at three residences on Thursday.
OPP officers from Wellington County, Grey Bruce, Huron-Perth and Lambton executed search warrants on King, Queen and Foster streets in Mount Forest on Oct. 23 at 6am.
Police say that during the search – "part of an ongoing suspected drug trafficking investigation" – officers seized suspected cocaine, fentanyl and methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), as well as weapons and ammunition, currency, cell phones, drug paraphernalia and stolen dirt bikes.
The total value of the items seized was over $13,000, police noted in an Oct. 24 press release.
Benjamin Knowles, 42, of Mount Forest, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime (over $5,000), two counts of driving while prohibited and two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine and other drugs).
Amy Capell, 40, and Jesse Charette, 36, both of Mount Forest, are each charged with possession of a prohibited device or ammunition and two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine and other drugs).
All three individuals are to appear in Guelph court on Nov. 25.
