ARTHUR - The 166th Arthur Fall Fair runs Sept 8 to 11. Let’s Celebrate is the theme.

Two contestants are vying for the title of Ambassador of the Fair.

Alexis Herriot, 20, is the daughter of Lisa Herriot and resides in Arthur. She is  sponsored by the Arthur Lions        Club.

In September, she will be attending Gates College in Peterborough to obtain her PSW certificate.

In her spare time, Herriot enjoys baton, baking, her dog and animals in general.

Asked why she wants to be ambassador, Herriott said she would like the opportunity to better her community.

Kelsey Lennox, 18, is the daughter of Andy and Suzan Lennox and resides near the hamlet of Damascus.

She is sponsored by Arthur Foodland.

Lennox will be starting her victory lap at Wellington Heights Secondary School in Mount Forest this September.

Her future plan is to attend university to become a French kindergarten teacher.

Her interests are baking, cooking, 4-H, cake decorating and volunteering.

Lennox wants to be ambassador of the fair as over the years she has seen the ambassadors represent the fair, agriculture and the community. She says growing up on a farm has taught her the value and importance of dedicated farmers and volunteers.
