Waterloo man dead after dump truck crashes into pole

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A Waterloo resident is dead following a single-vehicle crash here on Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, on Sideroad 11 just west of Elora, on June 10 at about 8:30am.

“A dump truck collided into a nearby hydro pole," police stated in a press release.

"As a result, hydro services were also dispatched to the [crash].”

A 63-year-old man from Waterloo was pronounced dead at scene.

“The identity of the deceased individual will not be released out of respect for the family’s privacy,” OPP officials added.

Police said a portion of Sideroad 11, between 8th Line West and Arthur Street North, was to be closed for several hours for the investigation.
