Watoto Children’s Choir coming to Bethel Baptist Church

FERGUS – The Watoto Children’s Choir is coming to the Bethel Baptist Church on April 3 as part of its 2024 Canadian Tour, “Better Days – There is Hope.”

The event begins at 6:30pm and is free to anyone interested.

“We look forward to [having them],” said Bethel Baptist evangelism lead John Bennett.

The choir is a group of children between the ages of about seven to 14 from Uganda who tour internationally.

They visit several countries, including: Canada, USA, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Uganda and the United Kingdom.

The children not only sing, but also dance and play instruments such as the drums.

“They do a lot of singing and dancing,” Bennett said.

“Part of the hope is that they’ll be able to raise some sponsorship for some of the orphans.”

Their tour raises money and awareness for the Watoto orphanages in Kampala, Uganda through the selling of their CDs and other merchandise they bring along.
