Weiner dog race to be held at Grand River Raceway

ELORA – The Weiner Dog Race will return to the Grand River Raceway (GRR) on July 15.

The Wiener Dog Race is described as the cutest race of the GRR season.

Thirty dachshund’s race in three heats in between the horse races. The three winners from each heat move on to the final race.

Ren’s Pets is returning as the event sponsor.

“After a two-year hiatus, we are very excited to fill the grandstand and bring back this popular event,” says Katie Giddy, vice president of operations at Grand River Raceway.

“The local community has been a huge supporter of this adorable event and we are eager to fill our track with spectators to cheer on all the wieners...we mean winners.”

The deadline to register is July 15 and is first come, first serve.
