KENILWORTH - Kicking off Culture Days here was a chance for residents and politicians past and present to reflect on how far Wellington North has come in the past 20 years.

On Sept. 27, the township celebrated 20 years of amalgamation with a ceremonial cake cutting and community barbecue. The event was just one of a number of Culture Days events in the township.

Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox thanked Cultural Roundtable chair Jim Taylor for organizing the event as the kickoff for Culture Days.

Lennox also welcomed those who crowded into the council chamber for the event.

“I remember coming to the 10th anniversary ... and it seemed like a really new community,” he said. “It’s been 20 years now and it still seems like a new community.”

Lennox anticipated “more stories and experiences in the years to come.”
