Wellington OPP accepting plushies for ‘Soft Hearts Initiative’
WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County OPP officials are collecting hand-made crocheted plushies for a “Soft Hearts Initiative.”
The plushies will be given to children in need.
“We believe that when a child experiences a traumatic event, receiving a handmade crochet plushie, crafted with care, can offer a sense of comfort and hope,” a news release about the initiative stated.
“Each plushie represents a personal gesture of kindness from the community, helping children begin their journey toward healing.”
Donated plushies must:
– be handmade;
– be new (gently used won’t be accepted);
– not contain small parts posing a choking hazard; and
– not have any monetary value.
Donations can be dropped off at the front desk of any Wellington County OPP detachment.
