WHEELDON, Stanley George

Stan was born to Ted and Mildred Wheeldon of Drayton Ontario. He married Ruth McLelland on September 11, 1954. They had two children Craig and Liana. While the children were still young, Stan and Ruth moved to Coquitlam BC, where Stan lived out the rest of his years with the love of his life Ruth. Stan had two sisters Bertha Ann Armstrong and Vivian (Noble) Roy. Even though there were many miles between them the three remained close. He had many nieces and nephews who thought the world of him. When Stan travelled to Ontario his family and friends would have to reserve their date to see him. I remember one year being told, ‘Don’t tell anyone Stan is coming.’ His jovial personality drew you to him and his expressive face could make you laugh without saying a word. He loved his gardens and dining out. His children were a big part of his life. Tuesday night supper with Craig and his partner Susan, was a highlight of his week. Liana and her husband Ron live in Alberta and visit often, remaining close as with his sisters. The miles did not matter. Stan will be missed by all who knew him.
