WICK, Dean

Of Palmerston passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at his home, surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the age of 68. Dean was Kate’s beloved husband and best friend for 45 years. Proud father of Carly and Mike Martin of Moorefield and Jesse Wick and Alana Scott of Toronto. Adored Grandfather and most favourite person of Ty and Beckett. Son of the late Don and Norrie Wick. Brother to Dan and Julie Wick, Dale and Catherine Wick, Darcy and Sharon Wick, Kim and Tim Williamson. Step son of Willa Wick. Son-in-law of Jean Murray and the late Lorne Murray. Brother-in-law of Bruce and Carroll Murray, Gail and Sandy Vallance and Scott and Rhonda Murray. He is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews of the Wick and Murray families. Admired and respected by his friends and colleagues at the Region of Waterloo Paramedic Service, Guelph Wellington Paramedic Service, and Minto Fire Department. Dean’s legacy will live on in the example that he set, the dedication he showed his community, and the love and laughter that he shared with his family and friends. To honor Dean’s wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, Dean would appreciate you making a donation to the charity of your choice, or raising a glass of scotch in his name. A Celebration of life Service was held in the Clifford Arena on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11:00am followed by a reception. Arrangements entrusted to the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston.
