High winds also battered the region earlier in the month, causing problems such as this downed tree, which resulted in the closure of a one-block section of Elora Street in Harriston on Dec. 11. Locally, power outages were reported in Drayton and Palmerston that weekend, while province-wide, Hydro One reported 280,000 customers lost power on Dec. 11.
